Coiled cord ends or spring cord ends are formed from wire coils with a loop for attaching a clasp. The cord or thong is placed inside the coil which is squeezed around the material. Fold over crimp ends, also known as foldover crimps, box lace ends, necklace ends and thong ends use a barb to hold the material, with the sides then folded over to provide a secure fixture. Ribbon clamps or ribbon crimp ends have teeth on their leading edge to clamp down on woven materials when closed.
Coiled cord ends, fold over crimp ends and ribbon clamps come in various metals, including brass and solid copper, plated metals like copper plated, gold plated and silver plated, or with applied finishes such as antique copper, antique silver, black antique, bronze and gunmetal cord ends.
