1 Antique Ojime Beads Lacquered Patterned Bead 16mm. These Ojime beads were made in China or Japan specifically for the western market during the Meiji Taisho era or early 1900s, which makes these beads antique.
These Ojime beads have layers of different coloured lacquers applied to a wooden base bead, with the surface patterns created by carving down into the surface of the lacquers. The hole in these lacquer beads has an internal collar of brass at both openings.
