Beading Threads for use in Beading & Jewellery Making
Beading threads are manufactured from natural or synthetic fibres which are spun into a single strand or thread, after which wax can be applied as a thread conditioner to improve the ease of bead threading and to reduce fraying. These stringing threads are typically used to sew beads into jewellery and for bead weaving or loomwork. Products of note include Beadalon Wildfire, Griffin Power Nylon and Nymo Thread. Both Griffin beading threads and Nymo beading threads can be used for stitching of beaded jewellery designs. Nymo threads in a size D are strong and slim and perfect for beading with most seed beads or light weight beads up to about 6mm. It is the prefect product for most off-loom beadweaving projects or any other beadwork that demands a tough but fine thread. Griffin Power Nylon is stronger and less stretchy than Nymo, and takes a knot well. Whilst Beadalon Wildfire is a very strong yet supple, waterproof thread perfect for multi strand seed bead designs.
