Beading Cords for use in Beading & Jewellery Making
Usually thicker than threads and typically a braided or woven product beading cords are manufactured from both natural and made made sources. Bead cord is usually more attractive than stringing threads and is therefore used where the stringing material will show such as for knotting between beads. The materials used include natural waxed cotton cord or waxed linen, elastic cord for quick makes, flax cord, hemp cord, illusion cord for floating necklaces, nylon cord or monofilament, colourful satin or rattail cord, as well as natural silk cord for knotting pearls and smaller beads. Leather cord, rubber cord and suede cord can also be used as necklace thongs or for choker necklaces. Products of note include Beadalon Supplemax, Griffin Natural Silk and Stretch Magic.
