Artist Made Ceramic Beads
The beautiful handmade ceramic beads below are made for BigBeadLittleBead by three very talented ceramic artists. The first is Hertfordshire based Polish ceramic jewellery designer Monika Skrzypkowska, of MaaP Studio. Monika produces jewellery and glazed ceramic beads in parian porcelain clay. Parian ware is named for its resemblance to the immaculate white marble from the Greek Island of Paros. The production of these handmade contemporary porcelain beads takes several days as they need to be fired, hand-painted with glaze and fired again. Our next artist is Lincolnshire based Annie Stapleton who uses bone china whiteware blanks which she then decorates with hand painted designs and also Dichroic glass. Our final artist, Jane Lidbetter, hails from Perth, Australia. She works with earthenware clay which she hand paints with glazes and fires to produce colours and designs reminiscent of 1950’s pottery. The studio work of these talented ceramic artisans allows us to supply you with one of a kind beads for your jewellery making.
Because these pieces are handmade, whether you choose ceramic beads, ceramic focal beads, or ceramic pendants, each will be totally unique to you. In addition these porcelain beads will have been kiln fired for strength and durability and with care should last you a lifetime.
